Eternal God,
we ask you to be present with your people
and bless us as we plan and carry out the Tulsa March for Life 2010.
Protect us and grant us diligence and faithfulness so that
– by means of the Holy Spirit –
You might give comfort to the victims of abortion
and at the same time change the minds of those
who do not respect life in the womb.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever,
Amen.
Event Organization and Funding
Dear Lord, hear us and please bless our efforts and the many details of this event, Dear Lord, hear us.
Grant us the good favor and timing for city permits, Dear Lord, hear us.
Help us to disburse and place the fliers with maximum effect, Dear Lord, hear us.
Help us to finalize the three speakers and the emcee, Dear Lord, hear us.
Grant us good favor with Tulsa PublicWorks, Dear Lord, hear us.
Help release the funding necessary for this event, Dear Lord, hear us.
Keep all our activities – and those at the University of Tulsa as well –
the march, and everyone involved with the event peaceful and gracious, Dear Lord, hear us.

Speakers, Climactic Conditions, and Surroundings
Dear Lord, please bless our speakers, giving them wisdom in choosing their words and courage in proclaiming
them, that all that they say on January 22 might effect the changes You would want in the hearts of those who listen. May their passion be a reflection of Your predilection for the poor and the vulnerable.
Bless those who march with good health and keep them warm in the cold, unshakable in the wind, unaffected by adverse climactic conditions and resolute in their purpose. Watch over them in your providence and give them safety as they travel, that their roads be open and dry, other drivers courteous and respectful, and their night drive made bright with your holy presence. Let any who would oppose us to either be peaceful or go home
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Dear Lord, maximize the impact of this event and bless the fruit of our labor;
Let the news coverage be fair, positive, balanced and detailed -
that it might have maximum impact here in Tulsa and beyond;
Let the turnout be just the right size to effect what You have in mind;
Turn our hearts, minds and actions to protect of the unborn;
Raise awareness of what abortion really is
that Your people in Tulsa and across the nation might resist evil;
Increase support for pro-life organizations and issues’
Create unity throughout the city of Tulsa
across generations, ethnic boundaries, and beyond the scope of Christianity
Provide healing for the families and victims of abortion
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!

Tulsa March for Life 2010

Downtown Tulsa
What?
The Tulsa March for Life 2010 will be held on January 22, 2010, in downtown Tulsa. This event will be decidedly apolitical and non-religious. Rather, the focus is on the basic civil, human rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” that should be afforded every person, regardless of age or race. The rally will include an emcee introduction and three short secular speeches by well-known figures.
Why?
The purpose is to mourn the 37th anniversary of the legalization of abortion by the Roe v. Wade decision.
Who?
Christians from Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Eastern Orthodox, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Charismatic churches will be represented, as well as people from other faiths and secular backgrounds. Crisis pregnancy and human care agencies will also attend.
Where and When?
The March: 6:15 p.m., Holy Family Cathedral, 8th and S. Boulder, downtown Tulsa; marchers will carry candles and process in silence. For route, see map on this website.
