Tulsa March for Life 2010

January 22, 2010

Downtown Tulsa

What?

The Tulsa March for Life 2010 will be held on January 22, 2010, in downtown Tulsa. This event will be decidedly apolitical and non-religious. Rather, the focus is on the basic civil, human rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” that should be afforded every person, regardless of age or race. The rally will include an emcee introduction and three short secular speeches by well-known figures.

Why?

The purpose is to mourn the 37th anniversary of the legalization of abortion by the Roe v. Wade decision.

Who?

Christians from Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Eastern Orthodox, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Charismatic churches will be represented, as well as people from other faiths and secular backgrounds. Crisis pregnancy and human care agencies will also attend.

Where and When?

The March: 6:15 p.m., Holy Family Cathedral, 8th and S. Boulder, downtown Tulsa; marchers will carry candles and process in silence. For route, see map on this website.

The Rally:   7:30-8:00, Chapman Centennial Green, 6th and Boston
